This Saturday is 'Walk Day' in Bray with the chance for the people of the town to get off the sofa and out in the fresh air.
It's all part of Operation Transformation with the walk to get underway at 11 a.m. from the bandstand at the seafront.
The route will be around 5km and will go from the bandstand to the Main Street, up the Vevay Road, down the Putland Road to finish up back at the bandstand.
'This is a fantastic way to start your New Year's fitness regime, everyone is welcome to come along,' said Mary Doyle of the Wicklow Sports Promotion Unit.
Leaders from the RTE programme will be there on the day as will the Order of Malta.
'I am a huge fan of walking to get results. It's free, accessible and it works,' said Karl Henry, fitness expert for Operation Transformation.
