Uncle orgainses gig in memory of tragic family
An uncle of three beautiful children who were tragically killed in a car crash in Denmark last year has organised a concert to be held at Woodbrook Golf Club in support of a charity set up in their memory.
Alan O'Shea, himself a staff member at Woodbrook, has lined up the bands 'The Shoos' and 'White City' for the gig on Saturday night.
His nephews Soren (11) and Conor (3) O'Shea, and his niece Saorise (9), all died last July when the car being driven by their mother Maria, who is a Danish citizen, was hit by another car.
Mrs. O'Shea and her four-month-old son Torben survived the crash. The family lives in Australia but had been in Denmark visiting relatives. The children's Irish father Brian was not in the vehicle at the time.
A Danish man, Lasse Burholt, faced court proceedings as a result of the tragedy, and there was outrage when his punishment was a fine of just €1,340.
The Three Musketeers Children's Charity was set up by the grieving parents Maria and Brian in memory of Soren, Saoirse and Conor.
'It's a very worthy charity helping disadvantaged children around the world, sparked by the most unimaginable tragedy that no parent should ever have to endure,' said a spokesman for White City.
The music night will start at 8 p.m. and admission is €20.
