Transition Year students of St Gerard's School were at Sunbeam House's Vevay Close facility recently, where they worked tirelessly to transform the car park area.

This was under the guidance of Difference Days.

To arrive to a muddy site early that day and kitted out with shovels and gloves made a change from the usual school day.

At the end of the day the muddy site had been transformed beyond belief. The works included a new grassed area housing a gazebo, BBQ and picnic area, and an outdoor gym area to include sporty artwork created by St Gerard's Students.

Seating areas were increased around the location and raised flower and vegetable beds were built to encourage our green-fingered enthusiasts.

The works carried out by the energetic and dedicated team of Transition Year students will enhance the built environment and provide greater opportunities for socialising outdoors as well as getting fitter in the gym area.

Sunbeam House Services are extremely grateful for the support received from St Gerard's School and Difference Days, in both the lead up to the day by way of sponsorship, and on the day itself in terms of the fun and friendship developed and the delivery of a well thought out project.
