Over 150 girls took part in the contest over two funfilled days.

The year-old club was joined by Wolfe Tone Twirlers and a group from Mountmellick in County Laois for the weekend.

On Saturday they held individual competitions, while groups and duos participated on Sunday.

'Both days were really enjoyable,' said coach Sinead Flanagan.

The Modernettes took 45 first places in the individuals, 11 in the groups and seven in duos.

The girls were all brought to the bowling alley for the evening on Saturday. Sinead said that the clubs all support and encourage one another and that baton twirling is a great pass time for the young people.

Bray Modernettes have members from the age of four right up to 21, and the coaches themselves also compete.

Training takes place on Saturdays and Mondays at St. Kilian's. For more information find the club on Facebook.
