Three locals named on Revenue defaulters list

Three Wicklow people were named and shamed on the latest list of Revenue Tax Defaulters, having made settlements with the Revenue Commissioners in the final quarter of last year.
The settlements were finalised by the Revenue between October 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013 and the total amount include interest and penalties.
The largest settlement in Wicklow was made by a motor dealer with an address at Monkswood in Tinnahinch, Enniskerry in Co Wicklow, and named as Fargo Leisure Ltd, who made a settlement of €559,000. This includes tax of €406,962, interest of €30,019 and penalties of €122,088. The case was a Revenue Audit Case into the Under declaration of VAT and PAYE/PRSI.
Retired employee Nuala Malone of Waterville, Kilquade, made a settlement of €140,392 arising from a Revenue Trusts and Off Shore Structures Investigation Case into the Under declaration of Income Tax.
The settlement comprised tax of €76,538, interest of €33,239 and penalties of €30,615.
The final Wicklow defaulter was James M. Tyrell of Kilbride, Arklow, a nursing home operator. He made a settlement of €48,104.80 in a Revenue Audit Case into the Under declaration of Income Tax. The settlement comprised tax of €33,246, interest of €4,885 and penalties of €9,973.80.
