COUNCILMAN Eric Swalwell, a member of the City Council in Bray's twin town of Dublin, California, was elected to the United States Congress last Tuesday night.

Cllr. David Grant and Cllr. Eugene Finnegan have congratulated Mr. Swalwell on his success.

In his first attempt to win a seat Swalwell unseated the incumbent Congressman, Pete Stark, who has represented the area for 40 years.

'I have been in contact with Eric to congratulate him on his success,' said Cllr. Grant.

' To win this election against all the odds is a tremendous result for him and his supporters.

'It is great that someone from our twin town in the United Sates has reached such heights and I have wished him well for the future.'

Bray Town Council plans to invite a delegation from Dublin California to Bray next year as part of the Gathering initiative.
