Two friends of the late Katy French have received suspended sentences for a drug offence dating to the weekend of Katy's collapse in December 2007.
Enniskerry native Katy lost consciousness at the Meath home of Kieron Ducie (43) and Ann Corcoran (32) who were a couple at the time. The model died in hospital four days after the incident.
Ducie and Corcoran appeared at Trim Circuit Court yesterday for sentencing. Both received sentences of two-years, suspended, after pleading guilty.
They have admitted to the courts that they conspired with a man to possess cocaine for the purpose of sale or supply to another person at an unknown location between 6 p.m. on December 1 and 10 a.m. the next day.
Katy's parents Janet and John and sister Jill were in Trim yesterday. Janet said that the family had to 'listen to what positive angels' the defendants were, while there was 'not one good word about Katy except from the judge.
