Skyfall makers to film new series at Ardmore
The makers of Skyfall will shoot a new horror series in Bray's Ardmore Studios, it has emerged.
The facility hasn't had a major production since The Tudors came to a close in 2010 after five seasons.
Showtime TV has confirmed that the new series 'Penny Dreadful' by John Logan and Sam Mendes will be filmed locally between October and March.
Filming for the Victorian-era period drama will also take place at locations around the Dublin area.
Hollywood actors Josh Hartnett and Eva Green will star in the eight-part series, which will focus on some of horror literature's most famous characters and their original stories - including Dr Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray, and characters from Dracula.
Hartnett will play American Ethan Chandler while Green will play sultry and haunted Vanessa. Oscar-winning director Mendes will executive produce the show along with Neal Street Productions' Pippa Harris, with whom he previously worked on Revolutionary road.
John Logan, creator and writer of 'Penny Dreadful,' has been nominated for three Oscars for his writing work on 'Gladiator' and Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo' and 'The Aviator'.
Ardmore Studios-created The Tudors won 16 Ifta awards.
