Hampers, a holiday at Trabolgan, wine, woodwork and rubbish collection were all up for grabs at Greystones Rugby Club last week where a quiz was held for Open Door.
Sugarloaf Lions organised the quiz which quizmaster Joe Brennan set. Topics included politics, music, current affairs and general knowledge.
Prizes on the night included pieces of woodwork crafted by the members of Open Door.
The president of Open Door, Michael Cleary, was present for the organisation's first major competition of the year.
He, like Chairperson Joe Behan, thanked all those who attended for their great support, and for the overall turnout.
Around €1,700 was raised on the night for the centre and the organisation uses the funds towards activities for adults with physical and sensory disabilities.
As well as this, members gain a social outlet, and are presented with the opportunity to learn enjoyable and recreational skills such as computers and woodwork.
Open Door Day Centre celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and since its inception has played a key role in the North Wicklow and South County Dublin area.
