RTE makes Sophie's dream come true

Nine-year-old Donard native Sophie Fisher – who recently had her wish fulfilled by the RTE show 'Una's Dream Ticket' – will now have it broadcast on the December 30 edition.

The show – hosted by Una Healy of the Saturdays – fulfils the wishes and dreams of children across Ireland who write in, and Sophie was one of them.

Around 18 months ago, she wrote in to RTE with her sister, asking if she could become a florist for the day. Her mother Fiona was unaware of the letter's purpose, but posted it any way.

'A year after she got a phone call from RTE saying they're going to make her dream come true,' said Fiona. 'She was ecstatic.'

In September, Sophie was brought into the RTE studios and given lessons by a boutique florist Joeanna Caffrey, with whom she arranged flowers for a celebrity wedding, as well as getting the chance to meet Una Healy.
