Peter's seven-year masterpiece

RENOWNED IRISH photographer Peter Cox has launched his first collection of photographs depicting Ireland's dramatic landscapes and seascapes including some stunning shots of Co. Wicklow scenery.
Entirely produced and published by specialist printers in Ireland, the spectacular 90 image portfolio entitled ' The Irish Light' was made possible by the innovative fundraising medium of crowd sourcing, whereby a large pool of people contribute relatively small sums of money to see a project realised.
In the seven years it took Peter to compile the right balance of images for his first landscape photography collection, he visited Wicklow a number of times. Drawn to its breathtaking peaks and seascapes, Peter has included a number of Wicklow images in the collection.
Peter said, 'Wicklow offers photographers a wonderful palette of colours. From capturing the summer heather bloom on the Wicklow Mountains, to getting lost in the coves of Brittas Bay on a blustery day, I've always found wonderful light here that truly captures the wild character of the landscape.'
Peter's breathtaking landscapes are united in their central theme of depicting Ireland's character and soul in a still image by finding the perfect light. Frustrated by seeing endless examples of flat, stereotypical Irish landscape photography 'of blue skies and grazing sheep' Peter was prepared to go to any length to make photographs that really captured Ireland's individual character. ' The Irish Light - a collection of landscape photographs' by Peter Cox has an RRP of €29.95 and is on sale from his gallery in Killarney, http://www.petercox.ie/, Easons and selected independent bookshops nationwide.
