GARDAI ARE seriously concerned for the safety of Bray man Philip 'Philly' O'Toole who has not been seen for over a week.
They have appealed for someone to come forward with information to ease the distress of his family.
The Thornhill View man was shot in Enniskerry in August 2011 and survived that attempt on his life. Shots were fired at his father's Ard Chualan home in September of the same year.
O'Toole has a criminal record that includes possession of a firearm. Gardai believe missing Philip may have been targeted by a drugs gang.
Philip (32) telephoned his family on the evening of Monday January 8. His partner and child saw him that day as he left their Fassaroe home. He was reported missing on Tuesday morning. 'Philip is the kind of man who would stay in regular contact with his mother and his partner,' said Detective Inspector Frank Keeneghan of Bray Garda Station.
' This is a difficult time for his mother and father, his sister and his partner.' He said that even an anonymous tip- off regarding O'Toole's whereabouts would be welcome for their sake.
Gardai found Philip's BMW coupe on Dargle Road on Tuesday night. They have carried out door-to-door enquiries in the area and are trying to piece together his movements on the day he vanished.
'We are examining CCTV along the route from Arklow to Bray,' said Det. Insp. Keeneghan.
He is described as 5' 7", with brown hair and of medium build. It is not known what he was wearing on the day of his disappearance.
