A MEXICAN STUDENT was knocked unconscious during a savage beating when he and his friends were attacked in Bray at the weekend.
The assault happened on the Boghall Road at around 3.30 a.m. on Sunday.
The three 19-year-old men had watched a DVD in a friend's house and were walking home together.
The three men live in different houses on the Boghall Road area and were just saying their goodbyes when a gang of youths came out of nowhere and began their onslaught.
One of the victims was kicked unconscious; another suffered bruising around the ears, face and neck, while the third man escaped with one blow.
All of the blows inflicted were to the head. The young men ran to a nearby house for help and the residents phoned an ambulance.
Just a few nights later a further three students were walking through Wolfe Tone when a woman came out of a house and took a phone from one of them.
The incident occurred at around 9 p.m. when the person asked if she could use their phone as she had no credit. She seemed to be under the influence of drugs.
A few more people came out of the house and surrounded the students. One of them lost his iPhone, however no physical harm occurred.
'The biggest industry in Bray is being threatened by people from Bray,' said a representative of a language school attended by the victims of the two incidents. 'Attacks like these affect the victims, their families and the livelihoods of so many people in the town.'
