Leaving Cert exams 2014 get underway

More than 3,300 students across Wicklow will start their Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate exams today (Wednesday).

According to figures from the State Examinations Commission a total of 1,521, 726 female and 795 males, will sit their Leaving Certificate in Wicklow over the coming weeks. A further 78 students, 33 females and 45 males, will sit their Leaving Certificate Applied in Wicklow.

1,863 students will sit the Junior Certificate, their first time tackling state exams. These comprise 885 females and 978 males across the county.

The exams start today and run until June 20 depending on subjects studied.
