Bray Firemen attending to a van on fire at the Pavillion on Bray Seafront

A fire broke out in a van which was parked in Bray last Sunday lunchtime.

The vehicle was parked in a space on Strand Road when smoke began billowing from the cabin.

The emergency services were called by passers-by and Bray Fire Brigade attended the scene at around 1 p.m. The food festival as part of Summerfest was under way in the nearby Pavilion at the time. Garda Declan Lynch said that the cause of the fire is still being investigated. Firemen working on the fire swiftly extinguished the blaze.

There was nobody in the van at the time and no-one was injured in the fire.
