A calypso band, a French Uruguayan singer, Irish traditional musicians and a writer and poet will all be on the eclectic bill at the Bray Arts Evening next Monday.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Youth will deliver solo, duet and group renderings of the richness and beauty of the best of Irish music.

Writer Phil Lynch, a regular at spoken word events all over the world, will read a selection of his recent work.

Sofia Arteaga is the aforementioned French-Uruguayan singer. Her unusual act includes singing without lyrics in a creative improvisation of vocal sounds triggered by midi keyboard and audience suggestion.

Three-piece band Birds hail from Kilcoole and will perform a selection of their pieces.

In its 18-year existence, 'Bray Arts' has harnessed some of the most extraordinary creative talent in the area for these exciting monthly performance nights.

The show starts at 8 p.m. with admission of €5 or €4 concession.
