Delgany woman, Deirdre Kelliher who is a teacher in St. Mary's College, Arklow and her fiancé Alan Moriarty have been named as one of four finalists out of hundreds of entries in the 'Win a Bash' wedding competition. The prize for the competition, which is run by Bash Magazine, is a dream wedding worth €30,000.
The couple met nearly seven years ago in Helsinki, which is also where Alan proposed to Deirdre on a return visit there last October. To enter the competition the couple had to submit a video of themselves which captures their personalities and the aesthetic and tone of Bash Magazine.
Deirdre, who teaches Home Economics and Irish, loves to spend time in the kitchen with Alan. Their video, The Bakers, which captures both their romantic sense of humour and their shared love of cooking caught the eye of the judges. They were recently shortlisted as one of the four finalists in Issue Two of Bash Magazine and are now looking for the public to vote for their favourite couple.
The prospect of winning this bespoke dream wedding is very exciting, according to Alan. 'This is an absolutely amazing prize. We have an image in our heads of what our dream wedding would be, but that doesn't even come close to the prize. If we won, it would be the most incredible wedding day. Better than anything we could have imagined.'

The closing date for voting is Valentine's Day and the winning couple will be announced in Issue Three of Bash magazine.
