Druid's Glen in tourism drive for Wicklow golf

Druid's Glen is to the fore promoting Wicklow as a premier golfing destination.
In a bid to drive up golfing tourism Barry Dowling of Druid's Glen attended several international golfing events in recent weeks.
He was one of a number of Tourism Ireland operators attending the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, in south east England and the Nordea Masters in Malmö, Sweden.
One of the European Tour's biggest golf competitions, the BMW PGA Championship attracts top players and thousands of spectators and international media each year - providing a fantastic platform to highlight our world-class golf.
The Nordea Masters is considered the largest golf tournament in that part of Europe and attracts over 100,000 spectators each year.
David Boyce, Tourism Ireland's head of sports tourism, said: 'Ireland boasts some fantastic golf courses and our presence was an excellent opportunity for Tourism Ireland, together with our partners, to showcase that superb golf offering.
Golf is a major focus for Tourism Ireland in 2014. Our message is that Ireland offers golfers the complete package - with top courses, stunning scenery and the warmest of welcomes.'
Tourism Ireland has also invited top golf journalists to visit Ireland during 2014, to come and experience our fantastic golf for themselves.
