Cycling enduro attracts big field
HUNDREDS of mountain bikers will descend upon Djouce Woods on Easter Sunday.
April 7 and April 8 sees the inaugural Irish Gravity Enduro Mountain Bike Series taking place.
Gravity Enduro combines the fitness of cross country mountain biking with the technical skills of downhill mountain biking.
The event is promoted by local organisation Biking.ie.
Event coordinator Niall Davis says ' mountain biking is gaining in popularity every week and next Sunday will be a spectacular day out for all the family.
'Gravity Enduro is very popular in Europe; a perfect combination of competition and a great day with your friends.'
The event will take place over two days. Practice takes place on Saturday April 7 and the racing takes place on Sunday April 8.
The course is approximately 25km long and has five timed stages similar to a car rally.
The person with the lowest accumulated Stage times is the winner of the event.
