Criminals targeting DART users

GARDAI IN Bray are urging commuters to be cautious as criminals target ticket vending machines at Dart stations.

While the banks have generally secured ATMs from skimming attacks, new equipment at unattended payment machines is being used to capture debit and credit card details while unsuspecting card-holders use the machines.

There have been cases along the Dart line in recent weeks, including nearby Booterstown and Dun Laoghaire.

Gardaí expect activity like this to escalate in the run-up to Christmas. CCTV evidence would indicate that a single gang is operating the scam.

Card holders are warned to cover the PIN pad when using the machines.
