Councillors unhappy with landscaping
THE QUALITY of the landscaping at the harbour development raised its head again last Tuesday at the monthly meeting of Greystones Town Council.
Director of Services with Wicklow County Council, Sean Quirke, said '10,000cu metres of soil was imported in July and August. Hydroseeding has been completed and grass has become established.
'Seeding is meadow grass variety and does not require regular maintenance.' Cllr. George Jones said while he 'wasn't expecting Wimbledon' he had thought the finish would be better. 'It's not looking the worst but I'm not sure the end result has worked out.'
Cllr. Tom Fortune said 'the landscaping at the North Beach looks terribly poor'.
He was supported by Cllr. Chris Moloney who said the 'workmanship and the grassing' of the area is poor.
