Ciaran bares (almost) all for charity

Wicklow County footballer Ciaran Hyland - along with 10 other prison service workers from Wheatfield and Cloverhill Prisons - posed recently for the Irish Prison Service 2014 Calendar in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
The idea was suggested by Ciaran's colleague Brian Hayes, who after getting a few willing souls on board, discerned from a Facebook group that there would be enough interest to be worth giving it a go.
'We were getting a lot more feedback than we'd expected,' said Ciaran, whose brother Cathal died of cancer aged 28, and is now hoping that the proceeds from the calendar can contribute over €2,000 to the Irish Cancer Society.
The pictures were taken two weeks ago, and Ciaran admits he had no qualms about getting his clothes off for the cause.
'It was a bit of fun,' he said of the experience. 'The most important thing was to make a bit of money for the society.'
The calendar will be released at the end of October and can be booked on the Irish Prison Service Calendar Facebook page.
