Bealtaine Festival events in Wicklow

'GROW HAPPY!' is the theme of this year's Bealtaine Festival, with events across County Wicklow celebrating creativity as we age.
The line-up for the month of May includes theatre, cinema, photography, singing, dancing and more.
On May 22, Wicklow Film Club invite you to enjoy a golden oldie on the big screen, at their Cinematic Day in The Big Room at 2 pm.
Laragh Glendalough Active Retirement & Brockagh Resource Centre is hosting 'Grow Happy Together' which will include tea dances, art and photography, and intergenerational reading classes.
On May 19, from 3 pm to 6 pm there will be an afternoon of dancing there. For information contact Bernadette Tyrrell on (0404) 45600.
On May 29 Carnew Community Centre will hold a fun-filled Garden Party, where ladies and gents are encouraged to wear their summer bonnets and hats, and enjoy outdoor activities including chair exercises, zumba and outdoor games, or simply chat and relax. Homemade elderflower cordial will be served as well as delicious afternoon tea. Admission is €7, and the fun starts at 2 pm. For details contact Sheila Kirwan on 053 942 6510.
And on the last weekend of May, the Association of Irish Choirs and Active Retirement Ireland are encouraging choirs throughout the country to sing in every county at dawn on Sunday May 26 in the Dawn Chorus event.
In Wicklow, Aughrim Active Retirement are organising the Aughrim Dawn Chorus, taking place beside the lake at the Pavilion. For details contact Margaret Brady on (086) 3982299.
