Bag pack raises €1,230 for Open Door

There was a great display of generosity over the weekend during a bag pack for Bray's Open Door.
A total of €1,230 was raised over the course of the two-day bag pack at Tesco Greystones. Open Door was established in 1984 to provide facilities and activities for adults with physical disabilities. Since then, it has expanded and developed into a purpose-build centre on the Vevay Road catering for up to 30 members per day.
Activities include art, music, physiotherapy, woodwork, computers, ceramics, gardening and photography.
Fundraising is an ongoing concern for Open Door because, despite being partially funded by the HSE, there's a deficit each year. Annual events such as the Reggie Corrigan Open Door golf classic, the Flora Women's Mini Marathon, bag packs such as this one and the Open Door Mid-Summer Lunch are all vital to continue the varied activities and services provided at the centre.
