Bray teenager Aoife White will be singing her heart out in Kildare next month in the hope of winning the 'Teen Stars' singing contest.
Aoife has made it to the national final of the competition, which will be held at the Westgrove Hotel in Clane on Saturday March 22.
She lives in Ardmore Crescent, where her parents and brothers get to hear the talented girl singing away all the time.
The Loreto pupil got through the various stages to make it to the end of the contest, which counts Kilcoole lady and former Voice of Ireland contestant Kim Hayden among its judges.
The Leinster finals took place just over two weeks ago at the Westgrove and judges said that they everyone was extremely talented.
'Aoife was always interested in singing and competitions, she really enjoys singing,' said her proud dad Brian, who said the whole family as well as a large and loyal contingent of friends have been supporting her faithfully along the way.
Each stage has included a long but entertaining day at the Westgrove. The contestants have their dress rehearsal session in the morning, followed by a show in the afternoon.
Aoife has two brothers, David (21) and her twin Cormac. They and her mum Adrienne as well as her grandparents are all just as proud as Brian.
He said that she sings mainly ballads and one of her favourite songs to perform is 'Ho Hey' by the Lumineers.
Admission to the final is €10 or €5 for anyone under 16. Admission is free for toddlers.
The top 10 singers from the all-Ireland final will record a charity single where all the proceeds will go to a charity chosen by the winner.
The first prize is €5,000 cash along with the coveted Teenstars trophy. Second prize is recording time, while third prize is €250.
