Tributes paid to retiring station officer Cliff

TRIBUTE WAS paid to Cliff Evans at the Beach House in Greystones last week for his 28 years of service to Greystones Fire Service, 25 of those as station officer.

His successor Ciaran Hayden as well as Greystones Mayor Kathleen Kelleher presented Cliff with a painting of the station house at the ceremony.

Cllr. George Jones was among those to congratulate Cliff on his retirement. He said that Cliff Evans was 'an outstanding example of a local person giving service to their community.

Clifford followed on from his father Charlie Evans.

Cllr. Jones added that the whole approach of the Greystones Fire Team was a credit to the leadership provided by Cliff during his time as station officer.
