THE delayed construction site at Sutton Villas in Bray raised its head once again at this month's meeting of Bray Town Council.
The site has been on the agenda in some capacity or another every month for several years.
A month ago the council was told that the cost has amounted to almost €600,000 so far. A breakdown of expenses was given to members last week, including moving of services, legal costs and more.
Construction has yet to occur at Sutton Villas.
Cllr. David Grant said that €175,000 was to come from other areas such as parks and roads. 'Why are we hitting these services?' he said. 'What will we lose as a result?' He also asked what the department of the position is on completion.
Cathaoirleach Tracy O'Brien said that the delay is extremely frustrating and the houses should be built there.
'I would like to see proper fencing erected,' she said.
Engineer Mark Devereux said that there is always an element of risk with contracts and this one had gone wrong. He said that some works have been done on the site however for legal reasons there were other matters about which he could not speak.
