THERE WILL be plenty of swing in Greystones this Friday night for a local rockabilly band.
Celebrating the birthplace of rock'n'roll, local rockabilly rebels The B**tard Sons Of Sun take on the early recordings of Elvis, Jerry Lee and Johnny Cash for their highly anticipated showcase gig on November 9 in the HotSpot Cafe, Mill Road.
Founded in 1952 by Sam Phillips in Memphis, Tennessee, Sun Records changed the face of rock'n'roll, launching the careers of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Howlin' Wolf and Roy Orbison, amongst others.
Comprising of Sonny L'B**tard (aka Gavin Glass), Pepe L'B**tard (aka Paul Byrne) and doublebass maverick B**tard Baby Brown (aka Tim Fernley), along with a very special guest on the night there will be a 1950s DJ, two classic rock'n'roll films projected, and a spot prize for best-dressed daddy-o or hot mama.
This historic gig takes place at The HotSpot Café in Greystones on Friday. Seating is limited to 70, so booking is advised, either by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or by phone (01 2016888) or on the HotSpot Facebook page.
Admission is €10 in advance, €12 on the night.
