Services of Worship for the 3rd Sunday Before Advent: Services for this Sunday are 8.30am, Holy Communion, 11am Family Service with Act of Remembrance, followed afterwards by coffee in the Erck Hall, and 7pm Holy Communion - Lector Debbie Duncan.

Kilternan visit: Yesterday (Tuesday) several parishioners availed of an invitation from the Kilternan Parish Tuesday Club to attend the 3pm talk by Brian Wilkinson in the Parish Centre on ' Dublin Now and Then ' during which he showed those attending a fascinating selection of photographs and etchings.

Confirmation 2013: The Confirmation Service will take place on Sunday March 3rd 2013. No further details are available at the moment but if you wish to be confirmed, please give you name to either the rector or Anne Thompson.

This Year's Remembrance Festival: For the past number of years Christ Church Bray has been marking the season of Remembrance for those who died in the World Wars of the 20th century. This culminated last year in our wonderful ' We Will Remember Them ' Flower Festival which included the names and details of the 168 men from Bray who died in World War 1.

While this year's Festival from today (Wednesday) to Sunday is on a much simpler level, we will continue to develop these stories through pictures, memorabilia and story boards. The church will be open daily from 10am to 4pm - admission is free.

On Saturday we are holding a special Evening of Remembrance and Storytelling. These will include stories and letters, Enniskerry Gospel Choir, and Justin Alymer giving brief renditions of the speeches from Winston Churchill. This evening will run from 7pm to 10pm in Christ Church Bray and all are welcome. Admission free.

Rathmichael Parish Mother and Baby Group: This Group meets every Wednesday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Erck Hall beside Rathmichael Church. For further information contact Alex on 087-324 4112; Annette at 087-417 8102, or Lynda at 087- 636 1420.

Concert in St. Patrick's Church, Dalkey: On Wednesday November 14th the CADENZA String Quintet will give a concert in St. Patrick's Church, Dalkey, at 8pm in aid of Breadline Africa. Rathmichael Parish National School ' German Style ' Christmas Market: The Market will held in the grounds of Rathmichael Parish National School, organised by the school PTA in aid of school funds. The date is Saturday December 1st and this great event will take place from 1pm to 5 pm.

There will a variety of stalls selling Gifts, Decorations, Cards, Clothing, Jewellery, Cakes, Christmas Goodies, and Handmade Items. There will be entertainment with a Brass Band & Carol Singing and for children there will be a Santa Grotto, Christmas Movie and Games. Also taking place will be a Children's Christmas Art Exhibition in the school hall. Festive refreshments will also be on sale. Everyone welcome.

New Pitch Grand Opening: Last month Ms. Daphne Hall, President of the Irish Hockey Association, and David Judge, who won most caps in his day and was in the Guinness Book of Records, opened the new synthetic grass pitch. Three matches were played - past pupils who have excelled in hockey since leaving Rathmichael National School, Parents and teachers and pupils in the school. ST. ANNE'S PARISH

St. Anne's Resource Centre Hours: St. Anne's Resource Centre is open 9am to 8.30pm Monday to Thursday and on Friday from 9am to 3pm. The Parish Office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and Friday from 9am to 3pm.

imes of Masses: Mass is celebrated in St. Anne's Church at 10am and 7.30pm Monday to Friday, (except during July & August). Weekend Mass times are Saturday 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sunday at 8am, (9am in St. Patrick's Church in St. Columcille's Hospital), 10.30am (Family Mass), 12 Noon, and 6pm. Confessions are heard on Saturdays after the 10am Mass, between 12.30pm and 1pm and after the 6.30pm Mass.

Catholic Youth Care Collection: The annual collection for Catholic Youth Care, the Dublin Diocesan Youth Service) will be taken up this weekend at all the Masses and will replace the normal Share Collection. Catholic Youth Care supports and services youth work and youth ministry throughout the Dublin Diocese and through its various services and programmes to young people and youth groups, reaches out to many of the most marginalized youth people in the Archdiocese.

Bethany Bereavement Group: The Bethany Bereavement Group is a voluntary parish-based ministry who are trained to listen and to help the bereaved and grieving. The Group holds a Drop In Centre on the First Friday of the Month at 10am in St, Anne's Resource Centre, and can be contacted via St. Anne's Resource Centre by calling 01-282 2704.

Altar List of the Dead Envelopes: Envelopes for the Altar List of the Dead are ready for distribution and if you can deliver these in your area, please contact St. Anne's Resource Centre.

Christmas Fair: The St. Anne's Parish Christmas Fair will take place on the last Sunday of November from 11am to 3pm in St. Anne's Resource Centre.

Fair Items Needed: We are appealing for items for our Christmas Fair / Unwanted gifts, toys and bottles for our bottle stall would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be left into St. Anne's Resource Centre.

Upcoming Event: This year the Week of Guided Prayer takes place on the week commencing December 2nd. It was a wonderful success last year and we are delighted that it be available in the Parish again this year. A Week of Guided Prayer is a way of making a mini retreat in the midst of daily living .

It is a retreat with a difference as you don't have to go away to find God. It is about finding God in your everyday life, in all your ups and downs, by taking some quiet time each day on your own. A prayer guide will accompany you and guide you each day. Further details will follows shortly.

Parish Pastoral Council: The St. Anne's PPC can be contacted any time via the Parish Office in St. Anne's Resource Centre. The November meeting was held in St. Anne's Resource Centre last Monday night.

There was a large attendance last Saturday morning for the November First Saturday Book Sale which took place between 10am and 1pm in the Shankill Old Folks Centre, Lower Road, to available of the excellent array of books available at bargain process.

The December First Saturday Book Sale will take place 10am and 1pm in the Shankill Old Folks Association Day Centre, Lower Road, Shankill, so make a point of calling in sometime that morning as you never know what you might find as there is always a fantastic array of reading material on offer at bargain prices. Donations of books, other than school / textbooks, welcome and appreciated. HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Tonight (Wednesday) the November meeting of the Rathmichael Historical Society - the local history society for Shankill & District - takes place in Rathmichael School, Stonebridge Road, Shankill, at 8pm and all are welcome to attend. Topic for the meeting is 'Martello Towers' those unique defensive structures which date back to the era of the Napoleonic Wars and can be seen along the coastline from Bray to Dublin. A guest speaker will present this lecture.

Members of the Society a have also been invited to tomorrow night's 8.30pm Enniskerry History Society lecture in the Powerscourt Arms Hotel, Enniskerry Village at which Liam Clare will present his lecture on 'Victorian Bray.' All welcome.

Members have also received an invitation to next Wednesday night's 8pm Ballybrack & Killiney Historical Society lecture in The Graduate, Rochestown Avenue, Killiney, Co. Dublin, at which Jim Robinson will present his lecture 'Lady Nelson and the peoples of Lady Nelson.' All welcome. GARDENING CLUB
