Newly elected president presides over historical lecture

BERNADINE Ruddy, newly elected President of the Old Dublin Society, presided at the Old Dublin Society 4th County Lecture hosted by Bray Library recently.

Brian White, chairperson of the Bray Cualann Historical Society presented his lecture on ' The Barbazons of Dublin and Bray.'

To a capacity audience in the library which included the current Lord Meath, members of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, other local history societies and local historians, Brian traced the history of the Brabazon family from its arrival in Ireland and its many contributions to the people of Bray and Dublin and further afield. Brian also provided the audience with details of on various members of the family and their contributions to society.

At the end of his presentation Brian presented Bernadine with a copy of the current Bray Cualann Historical Society journal for the Old Dublin Society's library which is housed in the Royal Dublin Society library in Ballsbridge.
