A PLAQUE dedicated to the memory of local man John Doyle may soon be erected in Greystones.
Speaking at last week's meeting of Greystones Town Council Cllr. Derek Mitchell called on the council to erect a plaque 'on the harbour wall or beside it to remember the bravery of John Doyle, Coxswain, Greystones Lifeboat, who died in 1892 rescuing people in a storm at the harbour'.
Director of Services Sean Quirke said discussions on the matter had taken place and the location of the anchor had been suggested.
