JOAN SHARKEY from the Raheny Heritage Society will be the guest speaker for the Thursday, March 15, meeting of Bray Cualann Historical Society. The meeting will be on in Bray Chamber House, 10 Prince of Wales Terrace, at 8 p.m.
Joan will present her lecture 'The Guiness Estate and St Anne's'.
This illustrated talk will trace the origins and establishment of St Anne's Estate in Dublin by the famous Guinness brewing family in 1835. Its development over the years into a beautiful demesne of almost 500 acres, and its later acquisition by Dublin Corporation, now Dublin City Council, to the present day to make it the second largest public park in Dublin City.
