Lakers' Santa run

THE LAKERS' annual Santa run will take place on Saturday, December 8.

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, whether you are a serious runner looking for a challenge or if you are looking for a fun and healthy way for you and your family to get into the festive spirit while helping out a worthwhile cause.

Both the 5km run and 3km fun run or walk are AAI measured and will start at The Ocean Bar and Grill, Bray Seafront, at 2.30 p.m. Registration will open at 1 p.m.

Early bird registration on is €10, or €15 on the day. Santa suits will be given to all 5km runners on the day, and hopefully participants will get into the spirit of the season.

Everyone who enters the 3km will receive a Santa hat. Lakers are asking that participants would wear something red on the day. The entry fee is €5 each or €15 for a family.

All participants will get a medal at the finish line. The run will wrap up at the Holy Redeemer Church with festive music, nibbles and a visit from a special guest.

All of your entry fee will go to Lakers: Meeting Special Needs, a local club providing sports and recreational activities to adults and children with an intellectual disability.

'The people of Bray have always been very good to Lakers and we are hoping for a good turnout for the Santa Run,' said club chairman Frank Thornton.
