Greystones wins number of awards

GREYSTONES received a number of awards in the Tidy Towns/Tidy Estates Special Environmental Awards 2012.

The competition is run by Wicklow County Council Water & Environmental Services Section.

Greystones received a recognition of effort award for Tidy Towns Main Street Large Town.

Burnaby Heights won a Tidy Estates award, and Burnaby Lawn Residents Association won the Landscaping award in the Special Environmental Award section.

'Congratulations to all the Greystones winners in this yearly competition,' said Mayor of Greystones Cllr. Kathleen Kelleher.

'I would like to pay special tribute to the winners and to everyone who helps keep Greystones tidy,' she added. 'Every time you pick up a piece of litter you are part of Greystones Tidy Towns.'
