Our Senior lads continued their league campaign on Saturday evening against Bray Emmets. Although there were some good individual performances put in by our lads we couldn't see off the strong challenge from this Bray side.

A late goal from John Nolan left the final score Laragh 1-07 to Bray's 1-10.

The club would like to thank An Tochar for inviting our under-8's, 10's and 12's over for a pre season blitz, everyone enjoyed their games tremendously.

KNOCKANANNA

The lads can count themselves unlucky to come away without something from their league encounter against Eire og on Sunday. Knockananna were faster out of the blocks with Damo Byrne scoring the first point of the game, it was score for score after that with the lads going in at half time leading five points to four.

After the break they went three points ahead with scores from Stephen Hinchey and Dan Myers. Eire Og started to come back into it scoring the only goal of the game midway through the second half and with only four minutes left they were leading by two points.

Knockananna dropped their guard conceding three points - the last point scored in injury time to end up losing the match on a score line of 0-12 to 01-10. Their next league game will be in two weeks time away to Baltinglass.

The under-14's will start off their season this Wednesday evening April 4 at home against Coolkenno, so come down and give the lads your support.

COOLKENNO

Sunday April 1 was a busy day in Coolkenno with the Intermediates playing St Patricks of Wicklow in Division 2 of the league and the juveniles playing at half time in Aughrim at the game between Leitrim and Wicklow.

In the Division 2 league game Coolkenno beat St Pats to gather their second win. Newcomer to the panel David Cole playing at half forward had a great game. Paul Keogh at full back was outstanding, Billy Lucas got the ball rolling with a great point and later added a goal and a point to his tally. Jim Cush, Connor Walker and Eamon Rossiter linked up well and the St Pats back line had no answer. Good win lads.

Well done to the juveniles for their performance in Aughrim. They played well against a strong Baltinglass team. Training as usual this week. Support badly needed for lotto get selling. Best of luck and speedy recovery to Finnan Doyle and Patrick Dalton who both got injured last week.

BARNDARRIG

The almost balmy temperatures hinted at the summer evenings to come last Saturday up in Kilmacurra. As for the Barndarrig ladies team, temperatures were average and ready to take on Baltinglass. The opening few minutes started well with Barndarrig kicking off the score line from one of two of the teams sweet left footed players on the team.

The ladies were determined to keep the pressure on keep it going and this was done by regaining position quickly and tactfully. The scores were coming hard and fast from all ages and angles of the kilmacurra women in the first half.

But Baltinglass were not going to give up to easily. The second half was play out well from the midfield up to the forward line driving another goal in and several more points rattled over the posts. Baltinglass responded with a few points too but the Barndarrig keeper was well on her toes and wasn't giving an inch between the goal post throwing in some class and spontaneous saves, and but to mention how well the youngsters on the team excelled themselves throughout the game too. Final score and a win to Barndarrig, 512 to 1-6.
