A VERY popular song over the summer months has now been adopted and goes "Kilmac's winning matches, Kilmac's winning games, Kilmac's bringing senior football back to the village once again".

Last Sunday was one of the greatest days in the Kilmacanogue GAA club's history as they were presented with the Timmons Cup in recognition of having won Division 2 and securing promotion to senior football next term. Avondale visited Fitzsimmon's Park and it seemed most of the community was there to witness the lads finish the league season with a 100% record intact, a truly fantastic achievement. A massive congratulations goes to everyone involved with the team and also sincere thanks to all who provided post-match refreshments on the day. Unsurprisingly, attention quickly turned to the Glencormac Inn where Ger Doyle's band kept all entertained. After the match, local legend Paddy O'Brien received a small token of appreciation in recognition for his incredible work for the club. And it gets better for Paddy as he is to be awarded the title of the Wicklow County Club Person of the Year. It's a very proud moment for Paddy and the club and richly deserved. The AGM was held last Friday night and Jason Doyle was elected as the new chairman of the club. All would like to wish Jason every success in his new role. Andrew "Hooper" Fitzsimmons will be trained in by Daniel Gorman as PRO of the Club. Andrew's Facebook posts are truly entertaining to say the least and all wonder what he is going to come out with over the coming season, good man "Hooper" ! A full report of the AGM will be included next week. Finally, a number of jerseys have gone missing recently. If anyone has these jerseys, please return them to Jason or Peadar Smyth immediately.
