THE BRAY Adult Learning Centre was delighted to welcome Michael Power from NALA (National Adult Literacy Agency) to present certificates to students who completed FETAC modules at the centre.
Michael Power is an adult learner. He is the former Chair of the NALA. He is currently the student representative on the NALA Executive and is Chairperson of the NALA Student Forum. Michael presented the FETAC Certificates and gave the group an inspiring talk on how his return to education has changed his life.
The Centre offers a wide range of part-time courses and FETAC modules at Levels 1-5. This year students received certificates to in a range of subjects including, Internet Skills, Desktop Publishing, Communications, Maths and Personal and Interpersonal Skills. A number of students have completed their studies in the Centre and were presented with full FETAC awards in General Vocational Skills. It was a special night for 12 students who were awarded with their FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Childcare by Catherine Byrne, Adult Education Officer of Co. Wicklow VEC.
Over one hundred and twenty students completed parttime FETAC courses at the centre in the last year.
Many of these programmes were aimed at people developing the skills and confidence needed for the changing economy and society.
