Presentation night - This took place on Friday, November 15 in The Old Forge Inn. The night kicked off with the championship winning U-14 football team lead by captain Will Coogan being given a guard of honour into the room where they were presented with their medals by special guest on the night by Micheal Lyster of 'The Sunday Game'.

The following presentations were then made - U-16 Player of the year - Luke Dalton; Minor Player of the Year - Daniel Blackbyrne; Junior

Football: Young Player of the Year - Luke Wrynn; Most Improved Player of the Year - Aidan McGlinchey; Player of the Year - Seamus O'Gorman; Ladies Player of the Year - Christine Murphy.

Overall there was a great turnout and a great night was had by all. Many thanks to the following people who put in huge work to make the night the success - Stephen King, Benny Doran, Dara Connolly, Brendan Barton, Carol Kavanagh, Pat and Damian Driver and the staff of The Old Forge Inn.

Our Annual General Meeting will be taking place in the next few weeks, more about it next week. Best wishes from all in the club to Jason and Jill Driver on the birth of their son Sean. Also to proud grandparents, Damian and Doreen, congratulations from Enniskerry GAA.

Donard-The Glen Camogie

The club wish to thank all who supported our recent Christmas hamper, raffle and table quiz. The table quiz winners were Alfie and Rose Zellar and John and Annemarie Clarke. Runners up were Julie Walshe, Barbara Walshe and Shane Kelly. The Hamper was won by Denis Slevin.

We would also like to wish all our sponsors, supporters and players a very happy and peaceful Christmas and every good wish for 2014.

Aughrim

Aughrim had a great start to the underage indoor hurling blitz organized by county coach Leighton Glynn held in our complex on Thursday night. The clubs taking part along with Aughrim were Arklow rock, Glenealy and Carnew.

The club would like to send huge congratulations to club referee John Keenan, and his umpires, on their outstanding performance in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny last Sunday.

John was honored with the job of refereeing the Leinster Senior Club hurling final between Oulert the Ballagh (Wexford) and Mount Leinster Rangers (Carlow). He did himself, his family and the club proud on the day with as solid of a performance any referee could have possibly gave in a free flowing great game of hurling.

Club AGM has been called by club chairman Liam Keenan for Friday, December 13. Please put this date in your diary as it's so important we have a full turnout of members to discuss the clubs affairs into the future.

Club members are reminded that nomination and motion papers for our AGM should have now been returned to secretary Denis Mangan.

Newtown

Congratulations to our Minor team who won the Minor C championship in Arklow on Sunday morning. Despite a slow start and at one stage trailing by eight points the lads went on to beat Michael Dwyers by eight points in a highly competitive and very skillful game. Well done to all the lads and the management team of Paul O'Riordan and Ciaran McGuirl.

On Tuesday December 10 next the annual general meeting of our club takes place in the Clubhouse starting 8pm. All members, players, parents, in fact anybody interested in the fortunes of Newtown men's and ladies teams, both adult and juvenile are invited to attend. Teas and soft drinks provided.

Newtown GAA is pleased to announce that a Junior Magpie winter camp will commence on Saturday January 4 in the sports hall in the community centre, check out www.newtowngaa.ie for more detail

There was no jackpot winner this week meaning next week's jackpot will be €3200, there was however 17 match three winners who received €15 each on the winning numbers of 3, 5, 7, and 21.

Blessington Juveniles

The Juvenile Presentation evening will be held in the Avon Ri this Wednesday, December 4 at 7.30pm sharp. The night will celebrate the excellent successes in 2013 for our juveniles in both hurling and football.

Highlight of the evening will be the naming of the 2013 All Star Blue team. These players are drawn from our older U-12s, U-13s, U-14s, U-15s, and U-16s.

Other awards will be the Pat Fanning Cup which will be presented to the U-16 Player of the Year and the Patrick Eustace Shield which will be presented to the Minor Player of the Year. Who will be the team of the year 2013? Special guests will be on hand to present the awards.

The Academy, U-8s and U-10s (football and hurling) will have their own presentation day on Saturday, December 14 in Avon Ri where there will be a special visitor for all the boys and girls. Hint - Ho Ho Ho! Congratulations to Tinahely who beat Baltinglass in the Allen Cup Final by two points. Well done to the management and players of our Senior team who beat St Pat's on Saturday, November 30 in Pearse Park, Arklow in the Dunne Cup final. The Cup was welcomed back to Blessington after 11 years. Lovely way to end the year.

Our club AGM will now take place on Thursday, January 9. Annual mass for our deceased members will be held on Saturday, December 7 at 6pm. Birthday wishes to Jack McManus and Ciaran Kavanagh.

AGB

The first meeting of the new club executive will take place at 8pm sharp tomorrow night (Thursday, December 4) in Pearse Park (County Board Offices).

The presentation of medals to our ladies Senior, Junior, Minor and U-16 teams and men's Junior C championship winning team, will take place upstairs in the Harbour Bar on Saturday, December 7 at 8.30pm. This promises to be a great social night out and all adult members of the club are invited to attend and help celebrate another successful season.

Thanks to all who organised and supported the AGB Annual Table quiz in the Old Ship on the 28th - it was a fantastic night with a great turn-out enjoyed by all.

Best wishes to Men's Senior manager Mervyn Travers who takes up a role as selector with the county U-21 footballers for 2014.

AGB won the 'Rince Foirne' at County Scór Finals in Roundwood on Friday, November 29. Well done to Caoimhe, Áine and Muireann from our U-12 team's and Meadbh from our U-14 team! County Champions! The Leinster finals for the Scór na nÓg and Scór Sinsir will be on the weekend of December 7 and 8.

There was a great turnout to the AGB juvenile girls' presentation which was held on Sunday, December 1. The presentation started off with a fun quiz and this was followed by a presentation of certificates and posters to the Academy, U-8, U-9 and U-10 girls.

Medals were then presented to the girls that reached the final of the tournament in Swords. Medals were also presented to both our U-12 teams for reaching the county finals.

The 'Rising Star' and 'Player of the Year' were announced for both U-12 teams, and both U-14 teams.

Ashford

The AGM of Ashford GAA club took place in the Bel-Air Hotel on November 28. Calling all ladies interested in playing football next year. Having reached the Junior A final this year, our ladies team are hoping that any extra girls out there in the community that are interested in playing football will come along in 2014 and help us take that next step to glory.

We are holding a table quiz in Jones' pub -Domhnall Rua's - this Saturday night, December 7 starting at 8.30pm. Quizmaster extraordinnaire Mr. Brian Walsh will be in attendance. Anything that man doesn't know isn't worth knowing - you're guaranteed to learn something new on Saturday night! See you there. All spot prizes for the raffle gratefully accepted.

Soccer continues on the Astroturf in Arklow on Thursday nights at 7pm. Watching Jimmy (Messy) Waldron in action is worth the entrance fee alone - and that's without even mentioning Johnny the Rock selling more dummies in an hour, than Boots chemists would in a month.

Tinahely Ladies

Apologies for the wrong date on last week's notes. The AGM will take place on Friday, December 6 at 8pm in the club house! Can everybody who has an interest in the forthcoming year please come on the night thank you.

Carnew Emmets

The Carnew Emmets GAA club's AGM will take place this Friday evening from 8pm in Colaiste Bhride and all are welcome to attend on the evening. There will be a mass for deceased members of the club beforehand in the church in Carnew. On Saturday night the team of 73 will be honoured at a function in The Lodge and the Junior B champions of 2013 will also be presented with their medals on the night.

It's full steam ahead for the ultimate grudge match early next year when our warriors of the boxing ring will go toe to toe against their bitter enemies from Craanford. Stay tuned for more details.

Rathnew

Lotto - numbers drawn 14, 20, 27, and 30.. There were no winners. Jackpot now €3,600.

All lotto tickets will be entered into our Christmas draw each week running up to Christmas. Great chance of winning a nice ham or turkey for yourself or indeed some cash!

There was a presentation held in the all new St. Brigids Hall for the U-12s, U-14s and U-16s. Great to see Senior Captain Peter Dignam taking time out to present some of the prizes helped out by Damien Power and Stephen Bruiser Byrne. A great night was had and congratulations to everyone involved. All clubs have been notified and given instructions on the new rules coming into play. Ladies football training continues each and every Friday night at 8-15pm.

Annacurra

Juvenile Presentation Night - On Friday night November 29 the Annacurra GAA Juvenile Club held its annual presentation in the Community Hall in Annacurra.

Medals and certificates were presented to all the U-6, 8, 10 and U-12 players from the year to recognise hard work and efforts from the year by our two county panel players Alan Byrne and Martin O'Brien.

The players also showcased the trophies and honours they had won for the club. A great night was had by all and it was fantastic to see so many talented young players enjoying themselves on the night. The club would also like to pay tribute and thanks to all the mentors and parents throughout the year without whose tireless work and effort we would not have been able to make such a success out of our efforts.

Healthy Club Launch - The club is officially launching its Healthy Club campaign. The intention of this is to promote health and well being in our club and community as a whole both inside and outside of sport.

This is a national program run by the GAA from Croke Park and Annacurra GAA club is one of only 18 clubs in the country to be taking part.

As part of this process a survey was carried out and results and action plan details can be found along with further information on the club website: annacurragaaclub.com.

Avondale

We're into the final week before our annual Christmas draw on December 7 in Jacob's Well at 10pm. Anyone with remaining tickets should return them to Craig Cahill on or before Friday night. It promises to be a great night with lots of fantastic prizes, so make sure you come down and enjoy the evening.

Our AGM is also fast approaching, and will take place in the Complex on Friday, December 13 at 8pm sharp. All members are welcome to attend.

An Tochar

After a brilliant night at our 'Parishes Punch Up' the hype has died down a little but we now have the DVD of the night available. There will be a launch night for the 'Parish Punch Up DVD' held next Saturday night, December 7, in Áras an Tóchar.

The club wants to wish Valerie (Halligan) and Nathan all the best and safe journey as they head for New Zealand with their little man, Patrick. Hopefully all will work out well for them.

The club extends our sympathy to John Brady and all the Brady family on their very sad bereavement recently.

Dunlavin

Friday night November 29 was a special night for our club when Amy Barrett and Sharon Germaine both claimed county medals in the county Scór final.

Both ladies had tough competition but a stunning rendition of 'Siul a Ruin' by Amy and a beautiful 'Down by the Glenside' by Sharon helped them to victory.

Both girls will now progress to the Lenister semi-finals, Scór na nÓg is up first for Amy on December 15 and the Scór Sinsir for Sharon will be after Christmas. Congratulations to Tinahely on winning the 30th anniversary Dick Allen Cup final on Saturday in Dunlavin GAA field.

Dunlavin annual Christmas hamper draw will take place in Garrett's Bar on Saturday, December 14, tickets are now on sale in all of the local businesses at only €5 each, along with the first prize of a massive Christmas hamper there will be plenty of other excellent prizes given out on the night.

St Nicholas AGM takes place on Tuesday, December 10 at 7.30pm in Dunlavin GAA club house.

Kiltegan

The Club held its annual AGM in the club house on Saturday night last which was well attended.

Only a few positional changes to report, Collie Doyle stepped down as secretary after serving five years. His place was taken by another Rathdangan man John Cullen.

The club would like to thank Collie for all his hard work over the last five years but he is not leaving the club he still holds various positions as assistant secretary and development officer and children's welfare officer.

Michael Barry Club is website co-ordinator, Tracey Winders is juvenile PRO, Nigel Byrne - school liaison officer. Those are the only changes. The following were elected: President: Danny Byrne, Vice-President: Peter Keogh, Chairman: Pat Keogh, Vice-Chairman: Ned Doyle, Secretary: John Cullen, Assistant Secretary: Collie Doyle, Fixtures Secretary: Pat Ivory, Treasurer: Michael Lennon, PRO: John Timmins, Registrar: Siobhan Doyle, Juvenile Chairman: Ned Doyle, Committee plus officers - Damien Byrne, John Lennon, Liam Kavanagh, Noel Farrell, Michael Farrell, Ciaran O'Toole, Peter Byrne, Dave Murray and Eugene Byrne.

Great credit must go to Michael Lennon who took over as treasurer in the middle of the year and showed the club in profit and in a very healthy state facing into a new year.

Secretary Collie Doyle gave a very detailed report on the activities of the Club during the year.

Michael Dwyers Minor C football team lost out by a four point margin to a very good Newtown team in the county final in Arklow on Sunday. Our club were represented in the county final of Scor na nOg in Roundwood Community Hall on Friday night with a dancing team of Alanah Byrne, Jamie Pierce, Sarah Byrne, and Aine Timmins, they performed a Four Hand reel but unfortunately they did not get the nod of the judges on the night.

Last week's lotto numbers were 5, 26, 28, and 30, match three winners Paul Costigan, Mick and Nano, Mary Farrell, Trish and Harry, next week's jackpot is €10,400, draw in Katie Lowe's Monday night.

Kilbride

Last Sunday night's lotto jackpot was not won. Numbers drawn were 1, 2, 17, and 27. €20 winners were The Company, Hazel O'Connor, Mary Sackett, Lorcan Clarke and Larry O'Connor. Next week's jackpot is €2300.

Help is needed in the astro pitch in Blessington to help train with the juveniles on any Monday Evening from 6pm-7pm!

Shillelagh GAA hold its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, December 18. New and existing members all welcome. The juvenile club are re-scheduling their AGM to Tuesday 10th Dec in Kenny's Lounge at 8pm.

Also a reminder again to keep Friday 13th free for a great night as the stars come out in Parkview, but not like any stars you have seen before - footballers, (past and present), WAG's, committee members (adult and juvenile) etc.
