Clinic settles after botched breast op
WOMAN LEFT SCARRED AND IN PAIN
A WOMAN has settled her lawsuit against a Kilmacanogue surgery for complications after her breast enlargement.
Dun Laoghaire woman Kate Murray (28) did not go to the High Court last week where it emerged that the matter was settled for an undisclosed sum with costs awarded to Ms. Murray.
She had sued Cosmedico Clinic as well as their former consulant Marco Loiacono.
The Italian consultant was barred from practising medicine in Ireland in 2011 after a fitnessto-practise committee heard the case.
Ms. Murray was left scarred after the botched job. The Medical Council heard at the fitness-topractise committee that the Italian surgeon's treatment of Ms. Murray was 'reckless in the extreme.'
She had her surgery in March 15 then suffered severe chest and abdominal pain.
She finally had him remove the implants on March 31 but on April 3 she was rushed to St Vincent's University Hospital suffering from severe sepsis on her chest, back and stomach, which doctors testified could have killed her within nine hours had she not been hospitalised.
