THE BRAY Modernettes baton twirlers are setting off on Thursday, March 28, to Bournemouth in southeast England to compete in international championships there.

The championship competitions are held over a four-day period, which consists of 15 other clubs throughout Ireland and the UK.

This is a great chance for the children to show their abilities on an international level.

They will be entering in individual, solo routines and team events. 'We are at the moment training very hard and children are doing so well,' said coach and founder Sinéad Flanagan.

They will then go to Mountmellick in Co Laois for another competition in April.

The club has been in existence for 14 months now. More than 60 children are trained in three separate classes.
