A GROUP of young people from Ballywaltrim will walk all the way to Crumlin in December to deliver a cheque to the children's hospital.

So far this year members of Ballywaltrim Youth Project have raise €1,500 for their chosen charity and they hope to raise even more.

At least 20 of them will walk 25.75 km on December 14 from Ballywaltrim Community Centre to present the total proceeds to the hospital.

There may be even more walkers if more leaders can be present on the day.

'We are looking for local businesses to sponsor each young person €50 to walk from Bray to Crumlin to increase our total,' explained youth worker Adam Burke.

'We will be wearing Santa hats and will have buckets collecting along the way,' explained Adam.

He described the fundraising activities and results achieved by the young people of BYP as 'phenomenal.'

The youth project provides a number of activities including drop-ins, life skills, sports games and much more.
