Arklow CBS

As part of a first year C.S.P.E. project, organised by Ms. Rooney, the first year class groups excelled with their efforts and contribution for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal.

We collected thirty eight shoeboxes in total, which was a great achievement for the school. With the current climate we are in at present, it is difficult for students and families to have the money to participate in such a charity event for Team Hope. The students showed great interest and felt that they were 'making a difference'. AUTISM COLLECTION

Congratulations to our TY boys who recently raised €281.33 for the Irish Autism Society. DRUG AWARENESS DRAMA

Our TY students attended an emotionally charged drama on Thursday last about drug use and abuse. The drama really brought home the deadly effects and consequences of drug abuse and the impact on the individual and on their friends and family. Excellent performances to all involved in particular our own Liam Lynch, Aaron Dunne, Piotr Nowak and Jelle de Zwarte.

Our second year student's recently attended a hip hop lesson in the leisure centre as part of drug awareness week. The students and teachers had a really enjoyable time!! BASKETBALL

Our school basketball team recently played a game against St Davids in Greystones. Our school won 41 – 28. A Special mention must go to Independence Winters who was the high scorer on the day also to Ros mc Bride who had a brilliant game. Well done lads!! Thanks to Ms. Merrigan for organising. GAELIC FIRST YEAR BLITZ

Our school entered 2 teams into a recent Gaelic Blitz with other local schools, our A team won the competition outright. Well down lads. Thanks to Ms. Merrigan for organising.

Well done to our school soccer team who recently won 1-0 against Gorey Community School. The goal scorer was Darren Dempsey. Other students who deserve a mention for playing well are Thomas Farrell O Halloran and Kyle Hilliard. Well done Lads and thanks to Mr. Collins for organising.
