Will Bridget get her just desserts?
Wicklow fans of the Great Irish Bake Off were on the edge of their seats last Thursday and the question of everyone's lips was would Wicklow woman Bridget Harney's bread be her undoing.
Occupational therapist Bridget who hails from rural West Wicklow was worried that her nerves would see her underbaking her breads in the first round of last week's show and unfortunately her added tea bread ingredient seemed to have been her downfall.
Judges Paul Kelly and Biddy White Lennon wouldn't even taste it - a tad on the rude side maybe. It was only bread after all!
We never did see what her wholemeal soda bread or potato soda bread fared unfortunately.
However the technical bake of Paul Kelly's party bread which looked very challenging came off better and Bridget will be back on our screens next Thursday night which is all about desserts.
A former pupil of Hollywood NS Bridget said her love of baking stems from her childhood.
The daughter of Mary and John, Bridget works as an occupational therapist in the mental health services and said she continued working while taking part in the show.
Filmed over four weeks with two episodes filmed a week the Great Irish Bake Off winner is already decided but Bridget is sworn to secrecy about how she fared and we have to follow her progress each Thursday.
Bridget now works in Ballyfermot but is familiar to many through her work with Bray's Protect where she worked for a number of years in the area of mental health.
Great Irish Bake Off airs again tomorrow night at 9 p.m. on TV3.
