Spirit of Christmas is alive at 'Giving Tree'

The spirit of giving continued in Bray over the past two weekends with another very successful 'Giving Tree' initiative by Bray Rotary Club.

The annual drive sees members of the public bringing along gifts for those who need them most.

Organiser Una Whelan explained that people took a tag from the tree with the name and age of a person, and bought a present for that person.

Recipients will include children and teenagers as well as older people in nursing homes.

For two weekends in a row, the people of Bray gave generously ensuring that nobody will be left without a present this Christmas.

The Giving Tree supports the four Bray St. Vincent de Paul Conferences, the Soup Kitchen and the Cancer Support Group.

Lidl Bray rowed in to help by providing a canopy tent, ensuring all would be dry, and on the day, Ruth Curran arrived with arms full of gifts as well as a basket of delicacies from their bakery to keep the volunteers well fed.
