They celebrated her retirement after 41 years with the service at a function held in the Fern House restaurant in Avoca, Kilmacanogue.

Family, friends and library staff, current and retired gathered to celebrate this landmark event with June and to wish her a long, healthy and happy retirement.

County Librarian Brendan Martin thanked June for her contribution to the library service and praised her for her integrity. He said that as the first contact with the library service at Headquarters she was always obliging, cheerful and helpful with the public.

He wished her well in success in whatever that she undertakes in the future and then made a presentation to her on behalf of her colleagues.

June will not be idle in her retirement as she is a keen amateur photographer and is looking forward to developing this interest further as well as pursuing new interests now that she has the time and freedom to do so.
