Local girl Grainne Whiston spent two years growing a mane of hair only to have it cut off for charity.
Grainne Whiston was at Elite salon in Tesco Greystones last week where she went under the scissors for Wicklow Hospice and the Rapunzel Foundation.
She grew her hair especially for the foundation so that it could be made in to a wig for cancer patients.
'I have chosen Wicklow Hospice to donate any money raised as they are a very worthwhile charity that is important to me,' she said.
The Wicklow Palliative Care/Hospice Campaign is a non-profit organisation that was set up by the people of Wicklow, for the people of Wicklow, to promote and campaign for the right of every person to choose and decide where they wish to spend their last days.
