Folk group reunion

THE LONGEST running folk group in the country want anyone from County Wicklow who was involved with the group down the years to get in touch with them.
The Rathmines Folk Group celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The group, famous for making the liturgy relevant to the everyday lives of people, has managed to stand the test of time, having never missed a Sunday mass since they began back in 1972.
Kevin MacNamara, a founder member of the group says, ' The Rathmines Folk Group is in the heart of flatland in Dublin and thousands of people from all over the country attended our mass over the years, including plenty of people from Wicklow.
A special celebratory 40th anniversary mass, concelebrated by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin is being held on Sunday November 4 at 6 p.m. in The Church of Mary Immaculate Refuge of Sinners, Rathmines. Contact Kevin or Geraldine MacNamara on (01) 4567474.
