A guided walk at night for bat fans
Published 03/07/2013 | 05:22
A guided bat walk around Blessington Nature Reserve will offer a fascinating insight into the furry little woodland inhabitants.
On the walk you will be guided through the Blessington reserve at nightfall stopping to see how many bats and other creatures we can see and hear.
Blessington Reserve's old stone bridge, mature trees and waterways make for the perfect habitat for bats. The species is protected under European conservation law.
The guided walk takes place on July 13 and the meeting point will be at 9.20 p.m. at the carpark just south of the nature reserve, on the N81 on the left just before the first turnoff for Ballymore Eustace when travelling south from Blessington.
The event lasts from 9.20 p.m. until 11.20 p.m. and is free of charge for members with a suggested donation of €4 for non-members. All ages are welcome.
