WICKLOW vocal group The Willoughby Brothers gave the biggest performance of their careers to date as they were charged with singing the title song at this year's Rose of Tralee competition.
Richie, Dessie, Sammy, Robbie, Johnnie and Jerome performed before a television audience of 1.2 million people as Texan Hayley O'Sullivan was crowned Rose of Tralee for 2013 on Tuesday, August 20.
It wrapped up a stellar week for the Coolboy natives who also performed at the black tie Rose ball in the Tralee Dome on Friday, August 16 as well as an open-air concert in the town centre on Sunday, August 18.
'We are delighted to have been given this opportunity ... it was a very special moment for us,' said the brothers of performing at the festival.
'The reaction has been incredible on facebook, twitter, and our website all the comments and well wishes have been brilliant and very much appreciated.'
The Willoughby Brothers will next perform in the Mount Wolseley Hotel in Tullow on Sunday, August 1. Tickets cost €20 and are available from 0599180100.
