Lifting the biggest of 5 viking longboats in to Wicklow harbour for filming

Wicklow Harbour was graced by vessels from a bygone age on Friday, July 12 as five Viking ships were fitted out for filming the second series of 'Vikings' at Magheramore beech.

The hit show - the first drama show to be produced by the History Channel - was recently commissioned for a second series to be aired next year, having shot much of its inaugural season at sites across Wicklow including Ashford Studios and Luggala.

The five ships were assembled and kitted out with props and rigging in Wicklow Harbour before heading to Magheramore for filming. Members of Wicklow Rowing Club were recruited as extras.
